Summer League lands former Gator an NBA deal

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The NBA Summer League is known for being a showcase for the newly drafted rookies to show what they can do on the pro level. It's also a chance for free agents and players who've spent time overseas to catch the eye of an NBA general manager.

Former Florida Gator point guard Scottie Wilbekin did just that and signed a four-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, according to RealGM.

Wilbekin, played under Billy Donovan for four-years and graduated from Florida in 2014. During his senior season he led the Gators to the Final Four. Wilbekin played in both Greece and Australia before suiting up for the Orlando Magic and 76ers during Summer League.Â
