FSU prepares for first road test

Florida State opens ACC play this weekend, on the road at Boston College

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Florida State enters this weekend's game against Boston College with a five-game winning streak against the Eagles. Last week BC destroyed Howard University 76-0. That game along with Saturday's contest will be played in Chestnut Hill.

FSU is 2-0 following their 34-14 victory over South Florida, but now will be on the road for the first time this season. "They'll play. Go line up and play and quit worrying about it," said Seminoles head coach Jimbo Fisher. "What are they going to do? They can put 11 guys on the field and they can yell. We yell at practice. You can get intimidated in your own stadium. It used to be a big deal communication wise because that's the way everyone does everything now, no huddle team. You kind of talk in sign language in what you do, check wristbands; it's (all) changed. You have to understand that the atmosphere of the crowd and those things will be tough, but that's part of growing up."'

This season the Eagles have 10 returning starters (six on defense). Last year they nearly pulled off a huge upset in Tallahassee, falling 20-17 thanks to a last second field goal. Boston College historically has a team that's tough and plays with a lot of physicality. Fisher says that his Seminoles are ready for the challenge.

"I'm sure Boston College is going to have a heck of a team. They play very hard, they've got good players. You don't realize how good their players are. They've had a few guys drafted last year. They do a great job in all three phases. We're going to have to play really tough, really physical. We had good practices, so hopefully we'll finish up tomorrow and head up there and play well."
