"TaxSlayer.com recognizes the history of the bowl's rich 70-year tradition," Rhodes said in a news release. "It is a legacy in college football, and we at TaxSlayer.com are extremely proud to be a part of such a dedicated professional bowl family and look forward to building on its historic foundation."

The extended partnership enabled the bowl to negotiate long-term conference and TV agreements, according to the news release. Beginning in 2015, the bowl will be televised on ESPN and will feature a team from the Southeastern Conference that will serve as the anchor team and will face an opponent from the Big Ten Conference or the Atlantic Coast Conference, which also includes the University of Notre Dame.

"It is rare to find special companies that share the same values and goals, and we are fortunate to have found such a partner in TaxSlayer.com," Catlett said in the news release. "It is a great partnership that will enable the bowl game to maintain its stature on the national level as one of the top tier bowl games in the country."

The upcoming TaxSlayer Bowl will be played at EverBank Field on Jan. 2.
