GAINESVILLE – A second national seed went down in the NCAA tournament as North Carolina eliminated Florida 5-2 on Saturday at McKethan Stadium.
The Gators were the number two seed when the field of 64 was released on Monday. They join Florida State as national seeded teams who failed to advance past the NCAA regional round. Florida went 0-2 in a regional for the second year in a row.

The Gators have now lost six consecutive NCAA tournament games dating back to the 2012 College World Series.
