Coach Mark Richt of the Georgia Bulldogs met with Coach Bo Pelini of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, in Jacksonville on Thursday, to preview the 2014 TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl.
This is the 69th annual Gator Bowl, and it marks the third time both teams have faced-off.
When asked about the health of his quarterbacks and who would be starting in the bowl game, Pelini listed Taylor Martinez's condition as "doubtful" and said the Cornhusker's red shirt freshman Tommy Armstrong will likely be the starting QB.
"We've been going through some conditioning drills and I think he's progressing right along - I think he'll make it on January 1," said Pelini.
Another potential candidate Pelini listed for quarterback was senior Ron Kellogg, who the coach said has stepped in for the team in the past.
Coach Richt listed Hutson Mason as the Bulldog's starting quarterback, in for the injured Aaron Murray. Despite a rough start in the game against Georgia Tech, Richt still has confidence in his player and is glad Mason is getting the experience.
"If there is a silver-lining in him (Murray) getting injured, it does give Hutson a chance to be a starter before we start next season," said Richt. "He'll learn more, and hopefully he'll play well."
Richt said Murray's recovery is going very well, and to expect him at the Gator Bowl on the sidelines.
Both the team's coaches are excited about facing off in January, and they're both confident their fans will make it out to cheer them to victory.
"Our fans will be here and I think between our fan base and Georgia's fan base, there will be some electricity in the air," said Pelini.
"I think our fans are fantastic," Richt said. "They understand you can't win every game. Obviously we both had successful seasons otherwise we wouldn't be here."
The Bulldogs play the Cornhuskers on January 1st at EverBank Field, setting up a rematch of last year's Capital One Bowl in Orlando when the Bulldogs beat the Cornhuskers 45-31.
