CHICAGO, IL – The Jaguars will look to move to 2-0 in the preseason when they face the Bears on Thursday night, but they will be without one of their star defensive players.
Paul Posluszny did not make the trip to Chicago due to a biceps contusion. But the Jaguars say the linebacker is not expected to miss any additional time. Nate Stupar will replace Posluszny in the lineup.
"I just go out there and do my job," Stupar said. "Poz is an amazing linebacker and I've been studying him. Just watching closely how he does things and how he runs things. Just learning every little thing I can from him. And I'm just going to go out there and play my game and have some fun."
Toby Gerhart is healthy again after missing the last two weeks with a hip flexor injury. Gus Bradley told reporters on Tuesday he plans to limit Gerhart's reps against the Bears.
"I'm anticipating, if I hear good reports, he's going to play," Bradley said. He's going to get in there and we're going to get him some reps. It might be four or five carries, something like that to get him going. But I've just got to wait and see what I find out on the latest report."
As for the all-important quarterback question, Chad Henne will play the entire first half against Chicago. Rookie quarterback Blake Bortles, fresh off an impressive performance against the Bucs, is expected to play the entire second half.
Thursday's game is set for 8:00 eastern time at Soldier Field. The game will be televised on ESPN.
