Weather forces Jaguars to cancel practice

Jaguars were planning to hold practice Monday night at Mandarin High School

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – As they've done in years past, the Jacksonville Jaguars wanted to take their preseason training camp on the road but their fourth practice session, slated for Mandarin High School Monday night, was canceled due to inclement weather including the threat of lightning.

Last summer, the Jaguars held a session at Bartram Trail High School.

Mother Nature had been kind to the Jaguars through Monday morning, with temperatures staying in the mid-high 80s instead of creeping up into the 90s, but that changed into the afternoon.

There also haven't been any major training camp injuries up to this point. Jaguars coach Gus Bradley said he wanted to build on what they had started during the first three days of camp.

"I think it's been very good," Bradley said. "I think we've had some good things go our way. I think we don't usually make a big deal about the weather but it's been good for us right now and I think we've been able to challenge our guys and I really like how they've gone through it. Knock on wood we've done a good job with even minor injuries. Guys are taking care of their bodies and I know they really appreciate the schedule."
