Jaguars trade QB Blaine Gabbert to San Francisco

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert has been traded to the San Francisco 49ers for a sixth-round draft pick.

The teams made the announcement Tuesday at the start of free agency, and the 49ers said the deal would be complete once Gabbert passes a physical.

Gabbert, 24, was drafted by Jacksonville as the 10th overall pick in 2011.

Last season, he played in just three games and had just one touchdown and seven interceptions. He was 5-22 as a starter, throwing for 22 touchdowns and 24 interceptions.

Jaguars QB Chad Henne, who started 15 games last season, agreed to a two-year contract with the Jaguars worth $8 million on Friday.

The team finished the year 4-12.
