The Players Championship's annual Military Appreciation Day on the Wednesday before tournament play begins has become a much-anticipated highlight of the week's festivities.

Country music star Jake Owen will headline this year's concert on May 7 on the TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse lawn. The concert wraps up a day of activities and programs to celebrate the men and women of the Armed Forces.

The Academy of Country Music's top new male vocalist of 2009, Owen has had four consecutive No. 1 singles since 2011.

"Performing for the military is always a true honor," Owen said in a statement from The Players. "I admire what these men and women do to serve our country, and I can't wait to show my support."

Along with the concert, The Players will recognize active duty, retired and reserve military personnel by allowing them and their dependents complimentary admission to the tournament all week.
