SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Torrey Craig had 15 points with nine rebounds and Ricardo Glenn chipped in 13 and 10 as South Carolina-Upstate defeated Jacksonville 79-69 Thursday night.
The Spartans (10-10, 3-4 Atlantic Sun) shot 49 percent from the field and out-rebounded Jacksonville 46-31. Ty Greene scored 11 points and ShunQuez Stephens chipped in 10.
Jacksonville (8-11, 4-4) was held to 4-of-19 shooting from beyond the arc. Jarvis Haywood led the Dolphins with 19 points and Keith McDougald contributed 16.
USC-Upstate jumped out to an early 22-8 lead capped by a dunk and layup from Jodd Maxey. Greene, Craig and Karim Mawuenyega each sank 3-pointers to make it 42-22 late in the first half.
The Dolphins climbed back in the second half with a 10-0 surge to make it 56-53 with 8:33 remaining. The Spartans responded as Craig hit a 3-pointer to fuel a 10-1 run and push the lead back to 12.
