ATLANTA, Ga. - The Atlanta Braves are one step closer to leaving Turner Field.
A vote passed Tuesday night allowing $300,000,000 in taxpayer dollars for a new stadium in Cobb County.
The price tag on the new facility is $672,000,000.

Earlier this month, the Braves announced they would leave downtown Atlanta when their Turner Field lease expires at the end of the 2016 season.

Atlanta's mayor Kasim Reed says he tried to negotiate to keep the braves in Atlanta but the price became too high.
