JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars signed veteran center Brad Meester to a one-year contract, the club announced today. Meester has spent the last 13 seasons with the Jaguars after being selected in the second round of the 2000 draft.
Meester holds franchise records for games played (193) and started (193) and is the only player to play to 13 seasons with the club. He enters the 2013 season with a streak of 74 consecutive starts, tied for the second-longest streak in team history and the second-longest streak among active NFL centers. He owns the team record with 92 consecutive starts from 2000-2005, the only Jaguars player to start the first 92 regular season games after being drafted.

The Parkersburg, Iowa native has started and paved the way for 22 of the club's top 25 games for rushing yards including a single-game franchise record 375 yards on December 10, 2006 against Indianapolis, tied for the third-most in NFL history. He has blocked for two running backs (Fred Taylor, Maurice Jones-Drew) that have made four Pro Bowl appearances and played a major role on an offensive line in 2011 that helped Jones-Drew rush for a single-season franchise record and NFL-best 1,606 yards.
Of the 255 players selected in the 2000 NFL Draft, Meester, New England quarterback Tom Brady and Pittsburgh wide receiver Plaxico Burress are the only position players from the draft currently on an NFL roster. Meester was the first center chosen in the 2000 draft and his first 48 starts were at left guard and the last 145 came at center.
