Jaguars place DE Andre Branch on IR

They have a roster spot open, possibly for the return of LB Daryl Smith this week

Headline Goes Here
After Coach Cullen's demonstration, rookie defensive end Andre Branch puts words into action during a drill Wednesday. The first-year player from Clemson has been at the front of the line for most, if not all of the drills so far in this mini-camp.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Jaguars have placed defensive end Andre Branch and running back Jordan Todman on injured reserve and promoted receiver Mike Brown, linebacker Brandon Marshall and tight end Isaiah Stanback from the practice squad.
The team waived receiver Quan Cosby and fullback Will Ta'ufo'ou. The Jaguars (2-12) have one roster spot open, presumably to active linebacker Daryl Smith (groin) off IR.

Both Smith and running back Maurice Jones-Drew are expected to participate in practice in a limited role on Wednesday.  Jones-Drew underwent extensive treatment to his injured foot Tuesday in anticipation of getting back on the practice field.

Branch (groin) and Todman (calf) were inactive for Sunday's game at Miami.
Jacksonville also signed offensive lineman Tommie Draheim and receiver Brittan Golden to the practice squad.
Brown spent the entire season on the practice squad. Marshall, a fifth-round draft pick, played in four games. Stanback was signed to the practice squad on Dec. 5. He has spent time with Dallas, New England, Seattle and the New York Giants.
