Jaguars sign DE Red Bryant

JACKSONVILLE – NFL free agency does not start until Tuesday but the Jaguars are already making moves. The team signed former Seahawks defensive end Red Bryant to a four-year deal on Saturday.

Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley knows Bryant well after spending four seasons with the Seahawks as their defensive coordinator. In fact, Bradley was instrumental in moving Bryant from defensive tackle to defensive end.

Seattle released Bryant back on February 28. He was scheduled to make $4.5 million in 2014 and was due a $3 million roster bonus on March 14. Bryant is allowed to sign with the Jaguars immediately since he was released by the Seahawks.

Bryant will be called upon to help improve a Jaguars unit that ranked 29th in run defense.
