Allen Robinson gives 50 bicycles away to local kids

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Christmas came a little early for 50 first and second graders in the form of new bikes thanks to Allen Robinson and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The 2nd-year wide receiver donated 50 bicycles and helmets for kids from the Boys and Girls Club of Northeast Florida at Academy Sports on the Southside Tuesday night.

"Growing up in the inner city, it's always an honor to be able to give back to kids that are less fortunate," said Robinson.  "The smiles on their faces make it all worth it.  Any time is good to give back, but especially around the holidays."

The kids, from Woodland Acres and John Love Elementary schools were all smiles as they received their bikes as well as an autographed Allen Robinson jersey.  Robinson says that he always wanted a bike for Christmas growing up and even remembers the first one he ever got.

"I don't remember too much about it other than it was blue and I think my grandparents kept the training wheels on a little too long," said Robinson.

Robinson and the Jaguars return to the practice fields Wednesday to prepare for the Atlanta Falcons coming into town for the last regular season home game this Sunday at 1PM.
