JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars announced today that the club has signed seventh-year running back Chris Ivory as an unrestricted free agent.

Ivory, 6-0, 222, spent the first three seasons of his career with New Orleans after signing as an undrafted rookie on May 3, 2010. Ivory was traded during the 2013 NFL Draft to the New York Jets, where he spent the past three seasons. Ivory has appeared in 70 games with 38 starts and his career totals include 4,031 rushing yards and 24 rushing touchdowns on 883 carries (4.6 rush avg.). Ivory has also made 53 career receptions for 382 yards (7.2 rec. avg.) and two touchdowns.

In 2015, Ivory appeared in 15 games with 14 starts and rushed for 1,070 yards and seven touchdowns on 247 carries (4.3 rush avg.) and was named to his first Pro Bowl. Ivory was named to the PFWA’s All-AFC Team and was named the FedEx Ground Player of the Week for his performances in Week 4 at Miami (29 rushes for 166 yards and one touchdown) and in Week 6 vs. Washington (20 rushes for 146 yards and one touchdown). Ivory finished fifth in the NFL and led the AFC in rushing yards in 2015 with his first career 1,000-yard rushing season (1,070). Ivory’s 247 carries, 1,070 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns were all career highs.

Ivory, 27, has rushed for 2,724 yards over the past three seasons, the 10th-most in the NFL during that span. On Sept. 7, 2014, Ivory registered a 71-yard touchdown run, the second-longest in Jets history. Prior to his trade to the Jets, Ivory was honored as a PFWA All-Rookie performer in 2010 and was named the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week in Week 6 of the 2010 season after taking over as the starter due to injuries to Reggie Bush and Pierre Thomas.

Ivory finished his collegiate career at Division-III Tiffin University (Ohio) after a three-year stint at Washington State. As a senior at Tiffin, Ivory rushed 39 times for 223 yards in five games before suffering a season-ending knee injury.
