Jaguars fan 'steals the show' in viral video

Woman says Jacksonville team 'took it to the limit' in 1995

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A WJXT interview with a Jacksonville Jaguars fan went viral Monday, with several national media outlets and the Jacksonville Jaguars picking it up and spreading a phrase in the interview: 'Steal the show.'

News4JAX reporter Scott Johnson was walking through downtown Jacksonville near the Landing on Sunday, looking for people to interview about a new report that said the Jaguars got the best NFL draft picks.

Roberta Anne Montgomery was sitting near the pavilion and called out to Scott that she had some thoughts and would like to speak about it.

Johnson walked over to Montgomery and asked if she was surprised to hear the Jaguars reportedly got the best draft picks.

"Certainly not," Montgomery said. "The first year we took it to the limit. And I was in Miami with my new beach house. Well, it was a couple minutes from the beach."

"It's been 20 years since then. We haven't been too strong in the last few years," Johnson told her.

"Oh we've been strong, we're just playing by the rules. You can't have a newcomer come in and steal the show," Montgomery said.

As of Monday evening, the interview had been retweeted more than 2,100 times from the News4JAX account.

Bleacher Report also picked it up, asking NFL fans how they thought their favorite team did in the draft.

FOX Sports and ESPN also picked up the video. The Jacksonville Jaguars alluded to it in a couple tweets, using #StealTheShow and 'push it to the limit.'
