Skirmish highlights Day No. 11 of Jaguars training camp

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – In their final practice before Thursday’s preseason opener against the New York Jets the Jaguars didn’t wear pads. However that didn’t stop things from getting physical.

Over the course of the last few days of training camp the Jaguars players have expressed that they’ve grown tired of hitting and battling each other at practice.

On Tuesday a couple of the players took out their frustration on each other. Several players including offensive tackle Luke Joeckel, defensive end Dante Fowler, offensive guard Chris Reed, defensive tackle Malik Jackson and right tackle Jeremy Parnell were involved in a skirmish. At this time of the year these types of things happen at training camp for all 32 NFL teams. Nobody on either side of the ball was hurt during the incident.

“At this time at practice, you go against each other, you go against each other and those things happen,” said Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley. “I told them, sometimes we made some wrong choices in the fight. It’s one thing to get a player off, but you can’t fight, can’t throw a punch, can’t hit someone from behind. So I told them, sometimes the wrong choices bring us to the right places so we’ll use that, we’ll look at it on tape and we need to talk about it. Especially in this world with the NFL, the rules, you can get kicked out of a game.”

Other news and notes from Day No. 11 of training camp:
