Ramsey: I'm 100% and ready to go

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Away from the action on the field is where you’ll find Jalen Ramsey rigorously attacking his rehabilitation. The Jaguars rookie cornerback is itching to get back on field after having surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee last month.

“I’d rather be playing football,” said Ramsey following day No. 2 of Jaguars minicamp. “I don’t have any pain or swelling or anything like that.”

Last week the Jaguars tweeted a video of Ramsey running sprints after Organized Team Activities. From the naked eye it’s hard to tell that Ramsey is just a couple of weeks removed from surgery. There aren’t any noticeable kinks in his running motion. So far we’ve only seen Ramsey run in a straight line. That’s a far cry from the starting, stopping and cutting on a dime that will be required to cover NFL wide receivers.

In the meantime Ramsey is making the most of the mental repetitions he gets on the field and during team meetings.

“That has probably helped me even more because I’ve been able to watch a lot of film and just watch the practices and try to stay mentally tuned in and put myself out in the positions out there, mentally," said Ramsey.

Ramsey is on track to be ready for the start of training camp next month. But if it were up to him he’d be playing and practicing right now.

"I’ll be one hundred percent at that time," said Ramsey. "I feel one hundred percent now. So when training camp comes I will definitely be ready.”
