JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – On Thursday night, the Jaguars will face the NFL's third-leading rusher in DeMarco Murray. Their best run defender Roy Miller won't be available after the team announced on Tuesday that he will miss the remainder of the season with a torn right Achilles tendon.
Miller was injured during Sunday's 33-16 loss to the Oakland Raiders. According to the team, he will be placed on injured reserve and will have surgery later this week.

The Jaguars run defense starts with the 6'2" 318 pound nose tackle. Not only is a he a center piece along the defensive line but he's also one of the vocal leaders on that side of the ball. Jaguars coach Gus Bradley said that Miller will be missed both on and off the field.
"Not only as a player but what he brings to the locker room and what he brings to that defensive line group. He was a big part of us and always will be. You feel for him because football is so important to him. He’s hurt by the news. We’ll support him and be there with him."
With Miller out for the season defensive tackle Abry Jones will likely see a larger role. Also Sen'Derrick Marks will be asked to play more nose-tackle.
"It’s tough especially when you’re close to somebody and when you know them personally," said Marks. "When you know their family. But for him I know Roy is a fighter. Hopefully he can come back even stronger."
