Orange & Blue Debut ends in 23-23 tie

New offensive coordinator Kurt Roper's new spread offense made its debut Saturday afternoon.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – After Florida's offensive misery last season, all eyes were on new offensive coordinator Kurt Roper's spread attack Saturday in the swamp.

The results were noticeable as both teams combined for more than 600 yards of offense.

Jeff Driskel took all the snaps for the Blue team, going 17-30 for 158 yards and a TD pass to Demarcus Robinson that gave Blue a 20-10 lead.

Sophomore Skyler Mornhingweg and Freshman Will Grier split snaps for the Orange team.  Mornhingweg's TD pass to Bair Diamond with :12 seconds to play gave the Orange team the 23-23 tie.

Kicker Austin Hardin made 4 field goals (43, 42, 24, 35) but hit the upright on an extra point attempt.
