LAKELAND, Fla. – From the opening tip, number 12 was never in doubt for the Ribault Lady Trojans.
They led Lakewood from start to finish, winning 72-31 to capture the 6A title, their 12th state championship in school history.
McDonalds All-American and Tennessee commitment Rennia Davis led the Trojans with 26 points while senior teammate Day'Neshia Banks finished with 18. The duo has been the backbone of back-to-back titles by Ribault and the fourth for head coach Sheila Seymour-Pennick.
Leaning on their signature defense, the Trojans held Lakewood to just seven shots and four points in the first quarter which they led 26-4.
Next up for the Lady Trojans is a defense of their Dicks Sporting Goods national title next month.
