River Run inducts 3 new members of hall of fame

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Three new members were inducted into the Gate River Run Hall of Fame on Tuesday evening.

The couple who who co-founded the 15K run in 1978 -- Dottie and George Dorion -- and Jen Rhines, who has won the female division three times, were honored.

Rhines was the fastest women in the race in 1998, 2005 and 2007, and is also a three-time Olympian.

"I'm thrilled, because the Gate River Run is the first race I won as a professional, and I've run it 12 times. This will be my 13th year," Rhines said. "I've run it more than any other road race in my career, so I'm really honored to be inducted into the Hall of Fame."
