Suns in first place after doubleheader sweep

JACKSONVILLE – The race for the playoffs is still alive in Jacksonville as the Suns swept the doubleheader against the Mobile BayBears to take over sole possession of first place in the Southern League south division.

The Suns have a half-game lead over the Mississippi Braves with two games remaining in the regular season. The Braves' game against the Huntsville Stars was postponed on Saturday due to rain. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Sunday. The Suns can clinch the division with a win on Sunday and two losses by the Braves.

In game one, the Suns erased a one-run deficit with a three-run fourth inning en route to a 3-1 victory.

Game two remained scoreless until the bottom of the seventh inning when Viosergy Rosa delivered a walk-off RBI single to give Jacksonville a 1-0 win.

The Suns and BayBears will battle again on Sunday with first pitch set for 7:05. Jacksonville will send Justin Nicolino to the mound. Nicolino is 13-4 on the season with a 2.98 ERA.
