UF OL Rod Johnson's career is over

The school announced Tuesday the redshirt sophomore has cervical stenosis.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – An already thin Gators offensive line received a huge blow Tuesday as the school announced that OL Rod Johnson's playing career is over.

Johnson received a stinger-type injury this past week in spring practice and was taken out for further diagnosis.  According to the University of Florida, Johnson has been diagnosed with congenital cervical stenosis, or the narrowing of the spine.

Johnson started 3 games last year as a freshman and was expected to have significant playing time this season for the Gators. 

With Johnson out, Florida now has 12 offensive linemen on scholarship, half of which are freshmen.
