JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

U.S. Men's National Team Head Coach Jurgen Klinsmann told media Friday that "we are very optimistic" about Jozy Altidore returning to the lineup against Belgium in the round of 16 on Tuesday.

“Every day is a big step forward. It’s 11 days now, and it’s looking better every day. So we are optimistic to have him be part of the Belgium game.”

Altidore pulled up lame with a hamstring injury in the American's group opening win versus Ghana and hasn't played since. He was seen jogging at the U.S. team's training session earlier Friday.

In other injury news, Jermaine Jones has a broken nose as he expected after Thursday's game against Germany, but he is scheduled to play in the round of 16 against Belgium on Tuesday in Salvador.  Jones will not wear a mask during the game.

The United States and Belgium face off in the round of 16 next Tuesday at 4PM.
