Thumbs Up (Boys Home Association and St. Johns Riverkeeper)

WJXT Editorial by Larry Blackerby, Aired December 8, 2005

We have some Thumbs Up for you.

Thumbs Up to the Boys Home Association and a system that is working. Police say a registered sex offender used an alias and managed to get hired at the boys’ facility. But by checking fingerprints and doing a background check, he was stopped before he ever had contact with any children. That means the system is working.

Thumbs Up to the St. Johns Riverkeeper. The group is now challenging JEA over untreated sewage. This effort on the organization's part is another demonstration of its diligence as an environmental watch dog. We are glad they are on the case.

I'm Larry Blackerby. That's our take. What's yours?
