Man hit by 2 vehicles dies in St. Augustine

FHP looking for maroon Ford that left scene after hitting pedestrian

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A pedestrian was killed early Friday morning after he was hit by two vehicles while walking along U.S. 1 near the Northeast Florida Regional Airport.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a maroon Ford was going north on the highway about 1:15 a.m. when it struck the man and continued driving. Shortly after, a 2007 Volkswagen hit the man. The driver of the Volkswagen remained on scene until investigators arrived.

The accident has caused all northbound lanes of U.S. 1 to close at Estrella Avenue overnight.
