FRUIT COVE, Fla. – Deputies are trying to get to the bottom of a possible road rage incident Tuesday on State Road 13 in which shots were fired by a motorcyclist.
Witnesses told the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office that six motorcyclists were headed south on SR 13 near Racetrack Road just before 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The last rider, who was waring a black helmet and a long sweatshirt, pulled out a black semiautomatic handgun and started shooting, possibly at a white pickup truck, according to the incident report.
Deputies found four spent shell casings in the area but had no other leads.
They said no one has contacted the sheriff's office to say they were the target of the gunfire.
