Minor injuries in Normandy crash involving police cruiser

JSO says crash happened at Cassat, Lenox avenues

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two people -- one of them a police officer -- have minor injuries after a crash in the Normandy area, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.

The accident was reported about 2:15 p.m. at the intersection of Cassat and Lane avenues.

According to the Sheriff's Office, an officer in a marked patrol officer was stopped at a red light when the light turned green and a woman driving the vehicle behind the patrol car moved forward, hitting the rear of the cuiser.

Investigators said the woman was at fault in the crash, which caused minor damage to both vehicles. 

The officer was taken to UF Health with minor injuries and the passenger in the woman's car was taken to St. Vincents Hospital with minor injuries, police said.
