ORANGE PARK, Fla. – A 13-year-old girl leaving Orange Park Junior High School on Monday afternoon was struck by a car.
She was hit on Gano Avenue about 4 p.m. and transported to a hospital. The Clay County Sheriff's Office said it happened right in front of the school and the girl didn't look both ways before crossing the street.

A woman told News4Jax that she didn't see the accident, but saw the principal and first responders rushing to help.
A spokeswoman for Clay County schools confirmed that the child was struck, but could provide no other details.
