JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Events scheduled in the downtown area on Saturday will coincide with the Mathews Bridge closure, also scheduled for the weekend.
The Wolfson Children's Hospital's Run 5 to Keep Kids Alive event starts at 2 p.m. at the Jacksonville Landing. The race route will affect traffic on the Acosta and Main Street bridges until about 3:45 p.m.
Those leaving the Arlington area trying to travel north during the event should use the Hart or Dames Point bridges.
The Mathews Bridge is scheduled to be closed in both directions from 7 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Sunday.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office wants to make sure drivers know to use alternate routes when entering or leaving downtown.
