Traffic traveling south on Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway will detour to Albert Street to westbound Mathews Expressway.

The $13 million project began in December and includes replacement of the Jacksonville Energy Authority’s water main on Union Street and State Street. Final resurfacing of the roadways, starting with Union Street, will begin in October barring bad weather and utility work completion.

The Mathews Expressway segment will be resurfaced during the final phase of the project. The entire project is scheduled for completion in spring 2017.
