Officer injured in Grand Park crash

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – An officer with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is recovering after an early morning crash in the Grand Park area.

The crash happened just south of Martin Luther King Parkway around 1 a.m. Monday morning. Another driver involved in the crash was also taken into the hospital.

According to JSO, the officer was on his way to a call and had his lights and siren on. While en route, he bumped into a median and crashed into an SUV.

JSO reported his head was cut in the crash but his injuries were not life-threatening. The driver of the SUV and the officer were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives are currently investigating the incident.
