Traffic tie-ups on I-95 heading to Nassau County

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Drivers on Interstate 95 headed up to Nassau County were grid-locked, Wednesday morning as a result of two crashes.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the first crash occurred on I-95 northbound, north of Pecan Park Road. The crash involved a tractor-trailer and blocked several lanes of the interstate around 4:44 a.m. By 10:30 a.m., traffic in the area was free-flowing.

A second crash in the same location occurred a few hours later during the morning rush. This crash involved a trooper and caused even more backups in the area. News4Jax has reached out to FHP to find out the condition of those involved. Only one lane is open on I-95 northbound traveling up to Pecan Park Road.

Drivers are encouraged to use North Main St. instead of I-95 to avoid delays.

News4Jax will have traffic updates on the morning show. This article will be updated as soon as more information is received.
