Woman arrested in fatal hit-and-run crash

76-year-old pedestrian struck by car, killed in November

PALM COAST, Fla. - The Florida Highway Patrol has arrested a 55-year-old woman in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash involving a Flagler County pedestrian in November.

Troopers said Jamesine Anne Fischer, of Palm Coast, left the scene of the crash that killed 76-year-old Francoise Pecquer.

Investigators said Fischer was driving a 2007 PT Cruiser northbound on Columbia Lane at Colechester Street at about 6 p.m. Nov. 10.

Pecquer was walking southbound on Columbia Lane on the east shoulder when the front of the PT Cruiser struck her, troopers said.

They said Fischer failed to notify emergency personnel and misled law enforcement about her involvement in the crash.

After a three month investigation, FHP traffic homicide investigators determined that Fischer left the scene of a crash involving death.

Fischer surrendered at the Flagler County Jail. The maximum sentence for the crime is up to 30 years in prison.
