Dozens of JAX flights canceled due to winter storm

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – People planning to fly out of Jacksonville International Airport to Northeastern cities Thursday were likely delayed, as dozens of flights were canceled due to a snowstorm impacting flights f JAX.

According to the JAX website, 30 flights are canceled before noon and anther 15 were canceled in Thursday afternoon and evening. That includes departures and arrivals.

These canceled flights are to and from New York, Newark, Boston, Philadelphia and Washington. The airlines with cancelations impacting Jacksonville include American Airlines, Delta, United, JetBlue, United Airlines and ExpressJet.

This storm had an impact on flights around the country. Hundreds of departures from Logan International Airport in Boston were canceled, as were dozens more at Rhode Island's T.F. Green, Connecticut's Bradley International and Manchester-Boston Regional Airport.

JetBlue said they waived flight change/cancelation fees and fare differences for Thursday through Friday. American Airlines was also waiving the change fees.

Snow began falling early Thursday across the Northeast. Schools in New York, Boston and Philadelphia are closed because of the snow.
