Don't get too caught up in watching for those radar guns alongside the road. . .
Florida Highway Patrol is also watching your speed from the skies. The next slide tells how it works.
Every quarter mile I-95 has white lines that intersect the lane lines.
The trooper programs his stopwatch every quarter mile to coordinate with the white lines.
When a vehicle is traveling much faster than the pack, the trooper starts his clock when the driver crosses the first white line.
When the vehicle gets to the second white line, the trooper stops his/her watch.
If the number determines that the vehicle was speeding, he radios down to a trooper on the ground, who pulls it over.
Troopers are especially cracking down on speeding and tailgating.
