JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

What is described as a monster thunderstorm moving out of the Gulf of Mexico Tuesday is likely to bring heavy rain and possibly severe thunderstorms across northeast Florida over the next two days.

"These will rapidly developing storms through about 9 o'clock," Channel 4's chief meteorologist John Gaughan said at 4 p.m. Thursday.  "Things can go to nice to bad quickly, so pay attention."

Gaughan and The Weather Authority team are providing updates every hour on the developing storms.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for all counties in Channel 4's viewing area.

Showers and thunderstorms remain in the forecast on Wednesday and Thursday. While less than one inch of rain is forecast over the three-day period, storms may train from west to east, resulting in significant accumulation in isolated areas and possible flooding.
