A few bumps for Bike Week

Weather will be a factor in this years Bike Week

A stalled front will generate showers Sunday and Monday followed by a cool week for bikers.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Some years bikers can pack light when the weather pattern is locked in with sunshine, but for the 76th annual Bike Week in Daytona Beach it will start dry and sunny but become cool and damp.

The heat is on Friday for the start of the event as warm southerly winds push temperatures up to 84 in the afternoon. Mild temps continue into the evening in the mid 60s.

Saturday temperatures drop 10 degrees behind a front and the east winds will pull in a bit more cloud cover off the Atlantic with highs in the 70s.

Changes start Sunday afternoon with numerous showers late in the day as a front stalls to the north. Temperatures will be in the low 70s before cooling down during the upcoming week.

Monday could be the one day out of the week to stay off the roads. Rain and gusty winds may develop with a low that pulls away from South Carolina sending rain up and down I-95.

As the low heads out to sea dry air moves in Tuesday with breezy N winds 20-25 and cooler 60s through Wednesday. Keep the jackets handy for those evening dipping into the 50s early.
