JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After over a week of widespread afternoon storms, expect decreasing coverage in afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the weekend.
After starting out clear & sunny Saturday morning, temperatures climbed quickly from the mid to low 70's, into the upper 80's and low 90's by the afternoon hours. Breezy conditions persist out of the Southeast, peaking in the late afternoon hours between 10 and 20mph.

Expect partly cloudy skies by lunch, with isolated showers popping up after 1:00 just to the West of I-95. Southeast winds push the showers and provide lift for further storm development closer to Hwy 301 and over to I-75. Overall, area-wide coverage of afternoon storms will be 30%.
Inland storms die out after sunset, resulting in a partly cloudy, mild evening.
Sunday starts out mild and clear, with building clouds resulting in partly cloudy skies. Even fewer inland storms fire up Sunday after 1:00pm, resulting in 20% coverage. Afternoon highs hit the low 90's, with breezy conditions expected.
Looking ahead, the work week forecast looks drier through Wednesday, with considerable coverage of afternoon storms building back into the forecast by Thursday.
