JACKSONVILLE, Fla – Joaquin is expected to move out to sea, his track is being impacted by an unusually strong upper-level low pressure over North Florida. This system will tap some of the intense tropical moisture from Joaquin and drive it right into South Carolina.

Already schools have been closed in Charleston county (city of Charleston) in anticipation of the flooding rains.
Widespread flood watches and a few flood warnings have already been posted.
Rainfall amounts will likely range from 5 to 15" of rains across a broad area of the state.
Heaviest will be along I-26, a major interstate that reaches from Charleston to the upstate areas in northwest South Carolina.
The rains will be most heaviest in the morning pre-dawn hours, through the early afternoon hours.
