So to borrow slang from today's lexicon, I'm ''totes'' (totally) confused with what the weather is doing. I mean seriously. In January we had almost a full week when we were basking in the 80s. However, the further into time we get, the colder it gets! As of Thursday, Jacksonville is running 10.8 degrees below normal and it doesn't end there. Now, the National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory for the entire area for early Friday morning.
Temperatures held in the 50s all day Thursday under crystal clear skies which made the chilly weather somewhat tolerable in the sunshine. However, low dewpoints, calm winds and clear skies will help to drive those temperatures down into the middle 30s again tonight which could lead to frost issues for most of our inland locations.

Temperatures are finally expected to get above 60 degrees and then 70 degrees as we head throughout the weekend. High temperatures may even approach the upper 70s to near 80 by Monday.
The long range models indicate no more shots of cold air for the next two weeks. While that is always subject to change it is likely the cold weather is in grave condition so-to-speak. The sun angle continues to get higher (comparable to mid September now) and the potential for cold shots becomes less and less. We'll keep you updated as always.
