DOWNLOAD

The hurricane tracker app is available for both iPhone and Droid. You can access the app by going to the Apple Store or Play Store. Download the application and you'll be ready to track.

HOME SCREEN

Consider this home base. From here, you can navigate to any part of the app to capture the latest information from the National Hurricane Center; get the latest models, watches and warnings, latest satellite feeds, local radar or get the very latest on any active storm. In this case, it would be Tropical Storm Danny.

Another nice feature is the Plan & Prepare button. Here, you'll find and have access to the following:

  • Hurricane Survival Kit Checklist
  • Storm Plan for Pets
  • Info on preparing Pools and Boats ahead of a storm
  • Maintenance and safety for Generators
  • Evacuation maps

PUSH ALERTS

Our meteorologists work hard to make sure the most accurate, up-to-date information is at-the-ready. Push alerts are sent directly from our weather team to your phone with general updates on position and strength of active storms to emergency information regarding evacuations, expected time of arrival and severity of conditions.

Generally when a storm is active, an update from the National Hurricane Center can be expected every 6 hours at 5 a.m/p.m and 11 a.m/p.m. When a watch or warning is hoisted for a stretch of coast, regardless of nation, updates are then every 3 hours at 5, 8, 11 and 2 a.m. and p.m.

STORM INFORMATION

All additional storm information that you will need to help keep you prepared can be found on this app including Satellite, sea surface temperatures and formation potential; all of which can be seen in the screen shots below.
