MLK, next 3 day's weather looking pretty

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – I have a dream -- of seeing some sunshine today and that dream will be reality for the start of your work week.

After last weeks gloom, we're in for pretty weather as high pressure has settled over our region allowing for clear skies to dominate along with the colder morning temperatures. On the contrary, our afternoon will be slightly warmer as well under those sunny skies.

Look for conditions to remain tranquil for the first half of the work week with highs pushing into the lower 70s by Tuesday ahead of our next storm system which promises to put a damper on an otherwise nice week ahead.

Models, see GFS at right, continue to indicate a very high chance of rainfall heading into Friday with nearly the entire area picking up measurable rain. A storm system developing over Texas will move east on Wednesday and should arrive here Friday along with much cooler afternoon temperatures.

At this time, we do not anticipate strong weather and most areas should just see rain, albeit heavy at times.

Skies should begin to clear out heading into Saturday afternoon with no issues to speak of for next weekend.

Heading into the following Monday, it appears as though a fairly strong front may work its way into our region bringing what could be some wintry weather to the Atlanta area. Still a long ways out but for now, something to continue to check on as the week wears on.

Snow or ice is not expected to affect the Jacksonville area at this time nor are we anticipating any significant changes to that line of thinking.
