Monday began with partly cloudy skies and rapidly warming temperatures. Clouds begin to build around the noon hour.  Temperatures climbed through the 80s, hitting the low 90sd for an afternoon high- prompting afternoon storms to fire up.

Afternoon showers and thunderstorms fired up after 2:00pm, and swept from the west-southwest to the east. Areas like Mandarin, San Marco, and the Southside saw lightning a heavy downpours.  Area rainfall totals on average will be around .25" with one or two isolated locations receiving over an inch.

The showers will move offshore before 6 p.m. and will fade significantly after sunset. Expect a quiet, cloudy evening with gradual clearing.
