Spring finally dawns in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After the topsy-turvy winter we had -- where it was spring-like in January and winter-like in March -- we are finally on the fast track to Spring. No freeze has ever been recorded in Jacksonville after this date.

On this day in 2007, the mercury at JIA plunged to 31 degrees. This marked the latest freeze ever observed for this area in nearly 130 years of record keeping. It looks as though the record will remain in tact for another year.

The first official forecast from Dr. Klotzbach and Dr. Gray are due out this week. We'll bring it to you as soon as we get those numbers.

On a scale of 1 to 87 -- the number of years that Margret Thatcher was with us -- I give this week an 80.  Have a great week.
