JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Google has released stunning updated satellite images from Washington, Illinois, where a gargantuan EF-4 tornado ate half the town on November 17th, 2013.
The tornado was the strongest ever recorded in the state of Illinois in the month of November. The National Weather Service put the estimated wind speeds at an incredible 170 to 190 mph; just 10 mph shy of an EF-5 rating.

Take a look at this next picture. Once the tornado finished off Washington, the tornado continued on an east-northeasterly path out of town. The evidence can be seen between the blue lines in the picture. Notice the swirls in the dirt! These swirls continue for a few miles before they abruptly disappear in the middle of a field.
