Sun will fade into gloomy Tuesday morning

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After a beautiful but cool Sunday, a developing storm system over northern Mexico will be moving this way by Monday promising to douse the sunshine by Tuesday morning.

To quote a great song by CCR, "Some one told me long ago, there's a calm before the storm... when it's over some will say, it'll rain a sunny day..." If that's true, we're in for a heck of a rain storm on Tuesday morning because it doesn't get more calm and sunny than Sunday.

The good news is, no severe weather is anticipated with this system as it moves through in the overnight hours of Monday into early Tuesday morning. Rainfall amounts may reach half an inch in some spots but no major problems are anticipated.

By Monday afternoon, you'll be greeted by sunny skies with a substantial increase in clouds by late Monday evening. Temperatures ahead of this storm system/front should reach into the low 70s for many of us.

Overnight Monday, moderate to heavy rainfall will move in ahead of the front. At this time no severe weather is anticipated. Rainfall amounts shouldn't be too impressive but will usher in some cooler weather.

Beginning Tuesday afternoon, skies will turn sunny as a series of cold fronts are penciled to come through: one on Wednesday morning and the other on Friday. This is going to keep things mighty chilly around here with highs in the 50s and lows near or below freezing for several mornings.
