Showers move through this evening

Mainly along and to the North of I-10

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Showers and an isolated thunderstorm or two are moving due East, stretching from just South of I-10 to the Okefenokee Swamp. They may fade in intensity a bit as they move away from the warm, moist air of the Gulf, but showers are possible along and to the North of I-10 just after sunset through about 8:00p.m.

Expect above average afternoon temperatures and below average chances for showers this week, and through Christmas Day. Afternoon temperatures will warm into the mid to upper 70s and chances for rain are small to isolated for the week.

Patchy, dense fog is possible early Tuesday, especially in our coastal counties. As the fog clears around 8-9:00a.m. we will see partly cloudy skies. During the day afternoon temperatures will top out in the mid to upper 70s with only an isolated chance for a stray shower or two.

Wednesday may end up being the warmest day this week, with afternoon highs topping out in the upper 70s and even low 80s West of I-95. A small chance (30%) for showers pushes through during the overnight hours Wednesday and leaves us with drying, ever-so-slightly cooler afternoon temperatures in the low to mid 70s.

The afternoon temperatures climb back into the mid to upper 70s for Saturday and Christmas Eve, with no chance for a white Christmas in sight locally.
